Lesson 5 — The Beginning of Motion

What Starts the Motion?

We have seen that transport is smooth, preserves the state and combines consistently. Now we look at the very beginning of the motion. The initial direction tells us how the whole evolution starts.

As the time step becomes smaller, the starting direction becomes clearer.

✓ Direction Defined

The motion begins with one clear direction.

ASSUMED HERE

QM2 Assumption D4

D4 requires the continuous transport family to possess an infinitesimal rate of change, written dU(t)/dt. In simple terms, the evolution begins with a clear and well-defined direction.

Change Initial Direction

Pick how the motion begins, then press Play to watch it continue that way.

Different initial generators produce different transport.

When Is the Starting Direction Clear?

Select every motion with a well-defined initial direction.
